Brown County Fairest to compete at State Level
DE PERE, WI – December 31, 2018 – Brown County Fairest of the Fair, Meghan Buechel, will be competing to be the next Wisconsin Fairest of the Fairs.  The competition is held during the Wisconsin Association of Fairs annual convention, January 6 – 9, 2019 at the Chula Vista Resort, Wisconsin Dells.  The winner is announced during an awards banquet on January 9th.  Buechel will be vying for the position currently held by Isabella Haen, who served as the Kewaunee County Fairest of the Fair. 
As Fairest, Buechel has had the opportunity to prepare for the competition through 40 different county events promoting the Brown County Fair.  “I am looking forward to meeting the other contestants and learning about what makes their fair special to the people in their county.” says Buechel.
Meghan Buechel, is the daughter of Bill and Jen Buechel, is a graduate of Wrightstown High School and attending UW-La Crosse to earn a graduate degree in Occupational Therapy.  She is an intern at Gundersen Health System in La Crosse.  She also works as a Client Assistant at CP Center in Green Bay.  Her fair involvement through FFA and Wrightstown 4-H included ceramics, sewing, woodworking, shooting sports, rabbits, sheep, and swine projects.

LOCATION: Brown County Fairgrounds is located on the northern limits of the City of De Pere, on the west bank of the Fox River, about 5 miles south of downtown Green Bay.

DIRECTIONS: From Green Bay’s west side, go south on South Broadway St. This street is named Fort Howard Ave. as you approach De Pere. Watch for the Fairgrounds at 1500 Fort Howard Ave., near the intersection with Parkview Ave. OR start by going south on Ashland Ave., turn east on Hansen Road, then south on South Broadway St.

From De Pere’s west side, you can take Fort Howard Ave. north off of West Main Ave.
